Angel in the Clouds

Gina and I recently went to Hobby Lobby to buy some fabric to film a video. While there, I ran across some LED light strips on sale. I remembered some photos I saw that used LED light strips and bundles of cotton. So, I went to the Christmas aisle and picked up a Christmas tree blanket skirt-thingy and some bags of cotton filler.

I put the blanket down on the floor, arranged the strips of LED lights, then spread out the cotton filler on top of the LED lights to create this cloud-like effect. The LED lights make it kinda look like there’s lightning in the clouds. I shot this from on top of a ladder looking down.

In hindsight I should’ve bought more cotton since I only had enough to shoot for half-body.

Really cool effect, very cheap to make, but the end results look like a lot of work and prep were involved.

I think it were purty.
